Solution for Black Soil Problem:
The left over feed, faecal matter, dead plankton & undigested feed accumulates in the pond bottom. Due to excess planktons & increase in the total biomass quantity the Dissolved Oxygen (DO) consumption increases constantly causing low DO level in the pond bottom. Due to the decrease in DO in pond bottom aerobic beneficial bacteria cannot survive resulting in increase of anaerobic bacterial population. The Anaerobic bacterial population utilizes the excess organic matter for surviving and growth, resulting in the release of unwanted products in to the pond environment such as noxious gases like ammonia, hydrogen sulphide, nitrites and nitrates which further depletes the DO and enhances some unwanted phytoplankton groups like Blue green algae.

The Advantages of OSWA 4X-PS

Dosage
For Shrimp: 4 – 5 litres per acre in one meter depth
For Fish - 1 litre per acre

Dosage:
1. Reducing Ammonia and Nitrite levels
Ammonia, Nitrite and Nitrate are toxics resulting from dead plankton or algae, residual feed, shrimp faeces and other decaying matter. When the concentration of beneficial microorganisms digesting organic matter is insufficient, the D.O. level is reduced and the water gets increasingly polluted - promoting growth of pathogens and harmful algae.
Recommendation: Apply OSWA 4X-PS 2 – 3 litres per acre between 6-8 p.m.
2. Algae or Plankton crash
Rebuild the plankton/algae profile by using OSWA 4X-PS every morning at 9-12 AM with normal dosage until the profile is built up and stable.
3. Addressing problem of blooming zooplankton
The water can be observed to have brown color.

Recommendation: Use 3 litres per hectare in the morning between 9-12 a.m. The water color will improve and change into green within 5 days.
4. Much organic wastes are suspended in the water
Recommendation: Apply 4 -5 litres per acre any time of day.

Effects on water
Results in a nice green water color by promotion of Chlorella, Nitzschia or Chitoceros. It also improves the water quality by controlling pH, reducing ammonia and nitrite levels within 2- 3 days and eliminating suspended organic matter in the pond water. If there are bubbles in the water, they will also disappear.

Effects on Soil quality
After harvest, it can be observed that there is a very low level of sediments or sludge at the pond bottom. Moreover, there are no bad odours coming from the soil. Regular use allows the microorganisms of OSWA 4X-PS to improve the soil by digestion of organic waste matter, and eliminating ammonia and nitrites. Succeeding pond preparation become easier and of higher quality.

Effects on Growth
OSWA 4X-PS indirectly improves survival rate and average daily growth rate due to its properties. By balancing pond water and soil environment, optimal conditions for shrimps to live and grow are achieved.

Control against Diseases
Research in lab and on the field has shown that OSWA 4X-PS prevents and treats black gills problem by clearing the black soil formation.

Mode of Action:
1. The probiotics species present are facultative anaerobes which survive and consume less oxygen.
2. Probiotics species present intakes the organic matter and black soil as food and consume them for proliferation and growth thus reducing the load of organic matter and black soil.
3. The consumed waste matters are digested and harmless and useful products are released in to the pond ecology which facilitates the growth of beneficial planktons.
4. Once the waste organic matter depletes from the pond environment the anaerobic bacteria & Blue green algae cannot survive due to lack of food thus increasing the transparency.
